Youth Conference 21-23 May 2005

The three-day event came and went. What we have here are some pictures to help us remember. Please note, we missed out on the Mormon Olympics, Key-chain making and Telematch because I didn't have the camerea with me until late in the afternoon.

Ok, Saturday ended with wet, wet world and Youth fun night--a short talent show. Wasn't much show of talents, but we sure had plenty of fun...cheering for our "Idols"!

Day 2 - Sunday

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So we made sure everyone is well-fed before they sat through sacrament meeting and "A Great and Marvelous Journey-part one" (An adapted version of Sunday School). It was the best time to take group pics as everyone was dressed up.

If anyone could recall, we had kurma chicken liver for lunch. Hats off to those who tried and a big bow to those who tried and liked it! I passed.

The best way to keep these young people docile on a Sunday afternoon is to feed them big lunch with chicken liver and then put them in a nice aircon room. We didn't want them to be hyper-- so that was our tricks to help them "keep the Sabbath holy". Well, they learned that they had individual worth so it was important for them to behave appropriately when on dates. They even learned from someone who was previously addicted to several substances how to say "NO" to peer pressure. Of course, the most important thing was there's hope in repentance.

During the "Great and Marvelous Journey--Part Two" we played some games and tried our hands on translation. How to say "Barefoot" in Malay? Nope, not kaki ayam, not ayam kaki, not beruang kaki...it's BERkaki ayam!! Hahaha.

Jonny Lingo entertained us while everyone frozed watching him. It was really cold in the sacrament hall--another trick to keep everyone awake after a nice dinner.

Out-doors breakfast on Sunday morning, bright and early!

yummy, my favourite cereal and milk!

Late comers for breakfast have to eat facing the wall, get it?

"Wet your lips for shines!" right after special sacrament meeting for the Kuala Lumpur District Youth Conference.

FRIM Park - Day 3 of Youth Conference 2005

After a "no-action" Sunday conference, everyone is ready for some action. Of course, I'm talking about the youth. As for the leaders, we've had actions the past two days, bending ourselves backward and over to serve and please these energetic young people. Ready or not, we have to keep up with them, so we're heading to the FRIM Park in Kepong. When some SA heard about the exciting trip, they "created jobs" for themselves and came along to "help" out too. For example, we needed extra transport and they came with a car, complete with a full load of passengers! We needed hands to carry the heavy load of food and drinks, they not only help with their hands, but with their mouths and stomaches too!
The climb up Bukit FRIM was not too difficult, but it was hard enough to cause shaking hands, so I have to delete many BLUR pictures. Whatever...what you see is what you get. So, enjoy!

It's a beautiful day. Everyone is ready to conquer Bukit FRIM.

It's only the beginning and you're tired already?

Hey, the youth are going for the canopy, why are you adults still undecided?

Come on, let's go, it's not that difficult.

It's going to be up-hill all the way! But there will be surprises.

Surprise No. 1 -- What? Only a tiny ant.

No, it's Little foot & Gi-Ant!

Surprise No. 2 -- No camera tricks. The campedak is small and the millipede HUGE, but dead.

Surprise No. 3 -- What? We climb 1000 feet only to miss the canopy walk? We want our money back!!
